Flowers

12 months before the wedding book the florist and decide on the arrangements for the various bouquets, button holes, church decorations and any requirements for the reception.

When deciding on the flowers take into consideration the scents and colours as certain fragrances can have an effect on emotions and colours have their own special meaning too.  The scent of lavender has a relaxing effect whereas citrus smells are great pick-me-ups.

Much can be found on-line about the various meanings of colours but here is a taster to help you decide.  Obviously it is better and cheaper to pick flowers that are in season.

Purple
Dramatic, flamboyant and considered a mystical colour.

Pink

Feminine and calms the nerves.

Yellow

Bright and cheerful, stimulates the memory and is reminiscent of summer, sunshine and holidays.

White

Pure and clean, and often highly perfumed.

Blue
Restful and calming, relaxes the mind.  Reminds people of the sky and the sea.

Red

A passionate colour that grabs the attention.

Green
The colour of nature and symbol of ecology that shows you care. A great stress reliever.

Black

Flowers, although appearing to be black, are actually very dark purple.
