Honeymoon/Wedding Night

12 months before book the honeymoon and apply for a new passport if the bride wishes to travel under her new name.

It has become more fashionable to have an overnight stay in a hotel that caters for newly wedded couples rather than traveling straight from the wedding reception to the honeymoon destination.  Book this at the same time as organising the honeymoon.  Check out the facilities at the hotel as some cater especially for honeymooners with upgrades - king size beds, champagne on arrival and generally special attention.

If you are going abroad do not forget to check if you need inoculations, this can sometimes be overlooked in all the excitement.

Unless you wish to be part of a busy family resort then avoid places that have singles, families or seniors in mind as their needs tend to be a lot different. Many travel agents cater for honeymooners and will ensure that all travel arrangements are within budget. They will help make your wedding a special event in your life.

Two to three weeks before the wedding confirm any last minute details.

One to two weeks before the wedding order your foreign currency and check your passport details are correct.
