Careful Planning & Tight Budget
You can have a lot of fun with themed weddings. Family and friends will tend to remember the wedding as being special and different from all other weddings. However they need careful planning and a tight budget otherwise they can run quite expensive. Once the ideas start rolling in the budget generally starts to increase.
Consider the Following....
When selecting a theme consider your outfits, choice of venue, decorating the venue, music and/or entertainment, transport, colour and type of flowers, wedding stationery, wedding gifts for guests, budget, catering including the cake decoration, the weather if outdoors and most importantly your guests. Will they be willing to take part in the dressing up, will they be able to eat the food, will they have access to the chosen venue? Guests will need to be provided with details as to where to get outfits should the theme be unusual. Will the theme be for just the wedding reception or will you carry it through to the evening reception? Remember that your wedding dress will need to fit in with the theme. Otherwise it will look as though you are at the wrong wedding..... The theme could also be tied in with your stag and hen parties.
